James Steven Rausch

James Steven Rausch (born September 4, 1928 in Albany , Minnesota , USA , † May 18, 1981 in Phoenix , Arizona ) was Bishop of Phoenix .

Life

After studying philosophy and Catholic theology , James Steven Rausch received the sacrament of ordination on June 2, 1956 .

On March 5, 1973, Pope Paul VI appointed him . the titular bishop of Summa and auxiliary bishop in Saint Cloud . The Archbishop of Philadelphia , Cardinal John Joseph Krol , ordained him episcopal on April 26 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the Archbishop of Cincinnati , Joseph Bernardin , and the Bishop of Saint Cloud, George Henry Speltz .

Pope Paul VI appointed him Bishop of Phoenix on January 17, 1977.
