Carico
The carico (load) was an Italian measure of volume and was used as a measure of grain in Verona . It was used as a measure of weight in Spain and France . Carico was also the cargo weight of mules and pack horses .

In Palermo a carico was like a load, was used for the trade in sulfur and so had
- 1 carico = 118 rotoli
The Carico was also a measure of weight and was known under the middle name Carco or Charge in France and Spain . Had in Venice
- 1 Cariso = 4 quintals = 4000 Libre peso sottile (light weight) with 12 Oncia each and these in turn 6 Saggi each with 24 Caratti each.
According to this weight, very different goods were sold, such as: caraway , almonds , indigo , ginger , nutmeg , pepper , mercury , rice , saltpetre , silk , ammonia and many other goods.
