Carina Konrad (born September 19, 1982 in Simmern / Hunsrück ) is a German politician ( FDP ) and a graduate engineer. Konrad has been a member of the German Bundestag since 2017 . The digitization of agriculture is one of her core topics .

Life and work

Carina Konrad completed her studies with a degree in agricultural engineering (FH); she and her family run a farm with arable farming and cattle breeding in Bickenbach in the Hunsrück . From the state elections in Rhineland-Palatinate in 2016 until she moved into the Bundestag, she also headed the office of Marco Weber, member of the FDP state parliament .

Konrad is married and a mother of three.

Party and politics

Konrad has been a member of the Free Democrats (FDP) since 2015. In 2016 she took over the chairmanship of the FDP district association Rhein-Hunsrück.

In the 2017 federal election , Konrad ran for fourth place on the state list of the FDP Rhineland-Palatinate and was thus elected member of the 19th German Bundestag on September 24, 2017 . She represents the constituency of Mosel / Rhein-Hunsrück and is deputy chairwoman of the Committee on Food and Agriculture and chairwoman of her parliamentary group. She is also a deputy member of the Committee on Family, Seniors, Women and Youth .

In the local elections in Rhineland-Palatinate in 2019 , she ran as the top candidate of the Free Democrats for the district assembly of the Rhein-Hunsrück district . She has been chairwoman of the FDP parliamentary group there since May 2019.

Social Commitment

In 2009 Konrad took over the chairmanship of the VlF Simmern-Birkenfeld eV agricultural training association

Since 2010 she has been a co-opted board member of the farmers and winegrowers' association in the Rhein-Hunsrück district.
