Carl-Erik Grimstad (born September 17, 1952 in Fredrikstad ) is a Norwegian journalist , writer and politician of the social liberal party Venstre . He has been a member of parliament in Storting since 2017 .

Life

Grimstad studied political science at the University of Oslo and worked as a journalist, writer and consultant. In 1985 and 1986 he served as press officer for the Norwegian unit of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFL). From 1990 to 1993 he worked for the Norwegian royal family . In 1994 he published the book Bak fasaden: historien om den kongelige væremåten , in which he reported on the royal family. He wrote other books, such as the book Hva brast så høyt? , in which he deals with the question of the need for a royal family. Until 2017 he was a media researcher at the private Høyskolen Kristiania University.

In 2015 he became a member of the local parliament of Tjøme , where he served as deputy mayor. Grimstad moved into the Norwegian national parliament in Storting for the first time in the 2017 general election . Since then he has represented the constituency of Vestfold and was a member of the Health and Welfare Committee until January 2020. On January 30, 2020, he moved to the Committee on Family and Culture.
