Paulien Couckuyt (born May 19, 1997 ) is a Belgian hurdler who has specialized in the 400 meter distance .

Athletic career

Paulien Couckuyt gained her first international experience in 2013 when she won the bronze medal in the Belgian 4 x 100 meter relay in 46.89 seconds at the European Youth Olympic Festival in Utrecht . At the IAAF World Relays 2019 in Yokohama , she took second place in the B final with the 4 x 400 meter relay in 3: 31.71 min. Then she won the gold medal at the U23 European Championships in Gävle in the 400 meter hurdles in 56.17 s and also qualified for the World Championships in Doha , where she was eliminated with 57.15 s in the first round . In addition, she reached the finals with the 4 x 400 meter relay , where she finished fifth in 3: 27.15 minutes.
