Carl-Ritter-Strasse 16 (Quedlinburg)
The house at Carl-Ritter-Straße 16 is a listed building in the city of Quedlinburg in Saxony-Anhalt .
Today it is used as the parish hall of the Protestant parish of Quedlinburg. The building is located south of the city's market square and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site .
Architecture and history
The large three-story half - timbered house was built in 1668. The building is referred to as a merchant's house in the city of Quedlinburg's list of monuments . The half-timbered facade is particularly richly decorated. There are star patterns with decorative nails and profiled thresholds as well as the half-timbered figure of the half man . The profiled old gate entrance with door from around 1820 is also remarkable.
There is a loading hatch on the second floor . The northwest corner of the house is decorated with a corner console showing an angel's head with a bunch of grapes.
At the rear of the building there are two half-timbered courtyard wings.
