The house at Carl-Ritter-Straße 17, 18 is a listed building in the city of Quedlinburg in Saxony-Anhalt .

The building is located in the southern part of the historic Quedlinburg old town. It is registered in the Quedlinburg monument register as a community courtyard and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site .

Architecture and history

The Bürgerhof was built directly on the southern city ​​wall of the historic Quedlinburg fortifications. Part of the facility was built on or on the city wall. It originally belonged to the neighboring Word Street . The striking house was built in half-timbered construction. According to an inscription, the construction took place in 1686. On the half-timbered facade there are struts and the shape of the half man . A noticeable feature on the south side of the house is a recess in the front of the building that is only two bundles wide. The house is covered by a high hipped roof .

A smaller half-timbered building from 1681 is attached to the residential building. It was later converted into a residential building. The former gate passage was built in. There is also a hatch on the back .
