Carl-Theodor Kromer
Carl-Theodor Kromer von Baerle (born August 10, 1901 in Freiburg im Breisgau ; † August 28, 1993 there ) was a German engineer .
Life
Carl-Theodor Kromer was a son from the marriage of the manufacturer Max Kromer and Elisabeth Kromer, nee Krebs. After graduating from high school, he initially worked in his father's iron goods factory . He studied at the Technical Universities of Karlsruhe and Stuttgart and obtained his diploma in 1922. In the following years he worked as a technical manager in his parents' company. From 1927 to 1929 he was a technical and economic consultant in the power transmission works in Rheinfelden . With his superior, the Karlsruhe professor Robert Haas , he received his doctorate in 1930.
From the spring of 1929 he was with the general management of the Society for Electrical Enterprises in Berlin. In 1943 he moved to the board of directors of the Badenwerk energy supply company in Karlsruhe. In this function, he was a member of the Advisory Council for Nuclear Energy at the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of Economics from 1956. From 1953 he taught as an honorary professor for electricity economics at the Technical University of Karlsruhe . After retiring, he was a member of the Badenwerk AG Supervisory Board from 1968 to 1980.
He was married to Maria Luise von Baerle, the only daughter of a Berlin art historian, and his wife, who came from a dynasty of manufacturers. They had a summer house built on the Titisee between 1905 and 1907 , which was named Maria-Luise-Kromer-Haus in 1968 and is now used by EnBW for seminars.
