Carl Bender (theologian)

Carl Bender (born January 20, 1838 in Neuwied , † May 22, 1912 in Kierspe ) was a theologian of the Association of Free Evangelical Churches .

Life

After an apprenticeship as a tailor and military service, through the agency of Leopold Bender, Carl Bender became a messenger for the Evangelical Brothers Association. In this activity he worked on the Hunsrück in 1864 and in Solingen from 1865. With his appointment as federal curator of the Free Evangelical Congregations in 1878, he left the Brothers' Association. In addition to his travel activities, he remains a preacher for the FeG in Solingen. As a federal curator, he essentially steered the fate of the Federation of Free Protestant Congregations in his day.
