The Carl Benz Center is an event center opened in 2006 in the Neckar Park in Bad Cannstatt ( Stuttgart ). Rudolf Häussler is the investor in the 75 million euro project . The Carl Benz Center offers around 20,000 square meters of usable space, of which VfB Stuttgart alone uses 4,000.

Location

The Carl Benz Center is located in the middle of the Neckarpark between the Porsche Arena and the Mercedes-Benz Arena . In terms of traffic, it is connected to the federal highways B10 and B14. The CBC is also connected to public transport. In the immediate vicinity are the “Neckarpark (Stadion)” tram stop, which is served by the U19 tram line and also by the U11 for events, as well as bus stops at the stadium. The “Neckarpark (Mercedes-Benz)” S-Bahn station is also within walking distance. There are 300 parking spaces in the immediate vicinity and around 10,000 parking spaces in the vicinity.

history

The construction of the center is based on a joint idea by Rudi Häussler and VfB Stuttgart. In 2005, the building was decided by the Stuttgart City Council on the condition that the outside area of ​​the building would be completed by the 2006 World Cup . This goal was also met.

The center was originally supposed to be fully opened in autumn 2006; the opening was initially planned for October 5, 2006, but had to be postponed due to water ingress. The Carl Benz Center was finally inaugurated on May 16, 2007.

Content concept

The Carl Benz Center consists of the Carl Benz Arena , a 4-star hotel with 150 beds including the associated wellness area and various VfB Stuttgart facilities. The gastronomy consists of a sports bar with a beer garden.

The outside areas between the Carl Benz Center and the Mercedes-Benz Arena as well as the green plateau in front of the center can be used for outdoor events and trend sports events.

The approximately 1,500 m² Carl Benz Arena, which can hold up to 2,000 people, offers various uses such as trade fairs, conferences, sporting events and cultural events.

Facilities of the VfB Stuttgart

The Carl Benz Center serves as a point of contact for home games especially for fans of VfB Stuttgart: In addition to the possibility of using the Carl Benz Arena, a service center with a fan shop, ticketing area and member administration is available to supporters in the Carl Benz Center. The fan clubs also have their own premises in the center.

VfB also has a youth academy there, including an artificial turf playing field measuring 900 square meters on the roof of the center. For the health care of the VfB players, the club operates a rehabilitation center, which is also open to the public.
