Rudolf "Rudi" Häussler (born April 21, 1928 ) is a German entrepreneur . He is the founder of the Stuttgart Häussler Group, which, according to his own statements, was the largest European full-service provider for office buildings at the time.

Life

Rudi Häussler attended the Karls-Gymnasium in Stuttgart . At the age of 15 he and his classmates were drafted as flak helpers . At the beginning of 1945 he and three comrades fled from Krakow back to Stuttgart for six weeks .

In 1949, in his parents' house in the Rohr district , Häussler and a partner founded the trading company Häußler & Steinhilber, which sold office furniture and office machines. In the 1980s, Häussler carried out a reorientation towards a full-service provider for turnkey office buildings. As an investor and builder, the Häussler Group also realized shopping centers, hotels and residential complexes. To date, the Häussler Group has completed several dozen construction projects around the world, 17 of them in Stuttgart alone. Customers included corporations such as Daimler , IBM and SAP . In September 2010, three companies in the Häussler Group filed for bankruptcy, all others (43 in total) followed.

The public prosecutor's office then initiated a preliminary investigation . "In essence, it was about the allegations of deliberate delay in bankruptcy ( Section 15a (4 ) InsO ) at 38 companies, the violation of accounting obligations ( Section 283b StGB ), bankruptcy ( Section 283 StGB ), fraud ( Section 263 StGB ) and infidelity to the detriment of business partners, but also own companies ( § 266 StGB ). " In 2015, the proceedings were discontinued in six cases under Section 170 II of the Code of Criminal Procedure because the public prosecutor's office did not find enough evidence to bring charges. In other cases, criminal prosecution for minor guilt ( § 153 StPO ) was refrained from.

Five of the many Häussler projects in Stuttgart are the Mercedes-Benz-Bank am Pragsattel , the “ SchwabenGalerie ” in Vaihingen ( shopping center with service providers), the Daimler-Chrysler training center, the office and commercial building Häussler-City-Plaza and the zum At the time of insolvency, the “Seepark” (apartments) under construction in Möhringen near the company headquarters (today “Atlanta BusinessCenter”). The "Seepark" was later taken over by Bietigheimer Wohnbau and GWG and completed.

Rudi Häussler is the founder of the “Foundation for the Promotion of the Semper Opera ” in Dresden and an honorary senator of the University of Hohenheim . For doctoral students in the fields of “information-oriented corporate management” and “internationalization of the economy”, he donates the “Rudi-Häussler-Förderpreis” here every two years.
