Carl Ewers (manufacturer)

Carl Ewers (born January 31, 1835 - † January 29, 1914 ) was a German manufacturer, member of parliament and chairman of the Chamber of Commerce.

Ewers, who was a Catholic denomination, founded a clothing factory in Küstelberg in 1866 , where he was also a landowner. The company initially produced wool jackets for men. In 1875, he expanded the range to include woolen underwear and jerseys for men and acquired round knitting chairs for this purpose. In 1890 he expanded the product range to include women's and children's skirts. His son Alexander took over the management of the company. Falke took over the company in the 1970s . He was President of the Arnsberg Chamber of Commerce and Industry .

Ewers was the head of the city council and mayor of Küstelberg. From 1871 to 1875 he was a member of the Provincial Parliament of the Province of Westphalia for the constituency of the Duchy of Westphalia for the districts of Brilon and Lippstadt . He took liberal positions.
