Carl Hamburger

Carl Hamburger (born September 9, 1828 in Frankfurt am Main ; † August 3, 1913 there ) was a German lawyer and politician .

Hamburger studied law and was awarded a Dr. jur. PhD. On September 11, 1850, he was admitted to the bar in the Free City of Frankfurt . There he was also politically active and was a member of the legislative body of the Free City of Frankfurt from 1862 until the end of the free city in 1866 . After the annexation of the Free City by Prussia , he was a city councilor.

In 1881 he was one of the four founders of the metal company , even if, at 12,500 marks, he was by far the smallest shareholder compared to the other shareholders who each subscribed to 662,500 marks. He was legal advisor to the metal company and was a member of the supervisory board from 1881 until his death . He was awarded the honorary title of a Privy Councilor of Justice . He was also a member of the Freemason Lodge Carl zum Lindenberg in Frankfurt .
