Carl Heinrich Gramzow - in the baptismal entry Gramtzow - (born March 11, 1807 in Berlin ; † unknown [after 1850]) was a German sculptor .
Life
Born in Berlin in 1807, Carl Heinrich Gramzow was a student of Karl Friedrich Wichmann and the Berlin Academy . Between 1826 and 1844 he took part in the academy exhibitions several times. From 1838 to 1842 he worked in Rome , then returned to Berlin and took part in the sculpting work at the Neues Museum . For political reasons he emigrated to America in the revolutionary year of 1848. As early as 1849/50 he came back to Europe, went to Rome and withdrew from art because of little success.
Place and date of death are unknown.
