Carl Heinrich Spitt

Carl Heinrich Spitt (* 1732 in Greifswald ; † October 2, 1793 there ) was a German mayor.

Life

Carl Heinrich Spitt (the younger) was the youngest son of the merchant Heinrich Spitt, who received Greifswald citizenship in 1714. He studied law in Greifswald and received his doctorate in 1753.

In 1792 he succeeded Balzer Peter Vahl as mayor of Greifswald. He was married twice but had no children of his own.

Carl Heinrich Spitt was the founder of the so-called Spitt Foundation .

His sister Catharina Emerentia was married to Mayor Joachim Christoph Heyn .
