Carl John Henkel (born August 16, 1969 in Redondo Beach ( California ), USA ) is a former American beach volleyball player .

Career

Carl Henkel has played on the US AVP tour since 1992 and internationally on the FIVB World Tour since 1995 . At the side of Sinjin Smith he took part in the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta and was eliminated in the quarterfinals against the Portuguese Maia / Brenha . Henkel also took part in three world championships ( 1997 , 1999 and 2001 ) with Sinjin Smith . In 2002 Henkel played with Dain Blanton and his final season in 2003 with Paul Baxter .

Private

Carl Henkel works as a lawyer today. He has been married to the Brazilian beach volleyball player Ana Paula since 2010 .
