Carl Julius Wilhelm Ernst von Schumm

Carl Julius Wilhelm Ernst Schumm , from 1838 von Schumm , (born September 11, 1794 in Ansbach ; † July 27, 1863 in Ellwangen (Jagst) ) was a Württemberg governor and regional president.

Life and work

Carl Julius Wilhelm Ernst Schumm was the son of a chief tax collector and councilor of war. He studied law and camera science in Erlangen and Landshut , after which he passed the examinations as a legal candidate in Bavaria and at the Justice Department in Württemberg. For almost three years he worked as an intern at the Bavarian regional courts in Heilsbronn , Cadolzburg and Ansbach . During this time he was also the private assistant of a lawyer in Ansbach. After a year-long internship at two tax offices in Munich and Ansbach, he was Assessoratsamtsverwerser in Ellwangen. In 1820 Schumm became senior judicial assessor at the court in Esslingen and in 1826 senior judicial advisor at the court in Ulm. From 1834 to 1836 he headed the Oberamt Ulm as Oberamtmann with the title Oberregierungsrat. In 1836 he moved to the Interior Ministry in Stuttgart as the third lecturing councilor. In 1847 he became government director of the Black Forest district in Reutlingen and from 1854 of the Jagst district in Ellwangen.
