Carl Kolb

Carl Kolb (* 1823 ; † 1889 ) was a German translator of literary works from English into German . He gained fame primarily through his translations of the works of Charles Dickens and James Fenimore Cooper as well as the autobiography of John Stuart Mill . His translations are still used or taken as a basis for print editions to this day .
