Carl Christian Richard Lachmann (from 1863 Freiherr von Lachmann-Falkenau ) (born December 2, 1814 in Greiffenberg , † February 11, 1882 in Dresden ) was a German landowner and politician.

Life

Carl Lachmann was the son of the landowner Carl Christian Lachmann, lord of Oberlangenöls and Wingendorf, Lauban, Osseg, Seiffendorf and Leippe, Grottkau district and his wife Christiane Helene nee Dünckler. Lachmann, who was a Protestant denomination, married Matilda Teodora Pauncefortee from the House of Preston Court on October 22, 1842 in Turin (born August 17, 1821 in Swansea, Wales; † September 2, 1885 in Dresden), the daughter of the gentleman on Preston Court , Robert Paunceforte (Smith).

Carl Lachmann was the master of Sponsberg, Trebnitz, Falkenau and Kroschen, Grottkau and Neuses near Coburg districts. With the purchase of the Mensdorffsturm property in Neuses near Coburg (from Duke Ernst II of Saxe-Coburg) he became a citizen of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha. On July 6, 1863 he was raised to the Saxon-Coburg noble and baron class and was now called Baron von Lachmann-Falkenau. The Prussian recognition of the increase in status dates from November 23, 1864. He was district deputy in the Trebnitz district and state elder. He donated 4,000 thalers to beautify the Veste Coburg . In 1850 he became a member of the Volkshaus of the Erfurt Union Parliament .
