Carl Leopold Goldschmidt

Carl Leopold Goldschmidt (born April 8, 1787 in Frankfurt am Main ; † March 21, 1858 ibid) was a politician of the Free City of Frankfurt .

Carl Leopold Goldschmidt studied law and was one of the first admitted Jewish lawyers in Frankfurt am Main in the Grand Duchy of Frankfurt . He was an author of the magazine Sulamith . In 1842 Goldschmidt and Theodor Creizenach were a radical supporter of the Jewish reform movement and one of the co-founders of the liberal Frankfurt Jewish Reform Association . On October 25, 1848, he was elected to the Constituent Assembly of the Free City of Frankfurt . He represented liberal positions there. He was a member of the Legislative Body in 1857. Here he was one of the four eligible Jews.
