Carl Lipp

Carl Lipp (born June 11, 1892 in Graz , Styria , † February 14, 1969 there ) was an Austrian politician ( ÖVP ).

Life

After attending the Technical University in Graz, Carl Lipp enjoyed his training as a stove . Later he took over his parents' company, which had specialized in the production of pottery and pottery.

In 1934 Lipp was appointed City Councilor for Economic Affairs in Graz; from 1936 to 1938 he served under Mayor Hans Schmid as Vice Mayor of the Styrian capital. During the time of the corporate state , Lipp was a member of the Federal Economic Council from 1934 to 1938.

During the time of National Socialism , Lipp had to serve short political prison sentences both in 1938 and in 1944.

In December 1945 he was sworn in in Vienna as a member of the Federal Council, to which he was a member until November 1952. He was also one of the founding members of the Economic Development Institute (WIFI) in Styria.

He is buried in the St. Leonhard Cemetery in Graz .
