Carl Lueder (manufacturer)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Carl Ludowig Lueder (born July 26, 1763 in Bielefeld , † after 1813) was a German merchant and textile manufacturer.

Lueder ran a damask factory in the Brackwede office since 1801 . In 1803 his company had seven looms. Lueder was able to expand his company, not least thanks to financial aid from the Prussian Melioration and Grace Fund. As a proto-industrial entrepreneur, he ultimately employed 50 to 60 crazy people working from home.

During the time of the Kingdom of Westphalia , Lueder was a member of the electoral college for the department of the Weser between 1808 and 1811 . He was also a member of the imperial estates of the Kingdom of Westphalia from 1808 to 1813 . He initially represented the Weser and later the Fuldade department .

After the end of the kingdom, he focused again on developing his company and was economically successful. His son took over the company in 1827 and in 1836 the Lueder & Kisker factory was established.
