Carl Otto Harz

Carl Otto Harz (born November 28, 1842 in Gammertingen , † December 5, 1906 in Munich ) was a German botanist . Its official botanical author's abbreviation is " Harz ".

Live and act

He studied in Berlin and completed his habilitation in 1873 at the Technical University of Munich . From 1874 he taught at the Central Veterinary School in Munich, and in 1880 he was appointed professor. One of his main research interests was in the field of seeds.

The mushroom genera Harzia Costantin and Harziella Kuntze are named after him
