Carl Overthun

Carl Overthun (born July 9, 1864 in Langendreer ; † April 24, 1936 in Dortmund ) was mining captain of the Dortmund Oberbergamt .

Life

After an internship in the Dortmund District Mining Authority, Carl Overthun did his military service as a one-year volunteer with the 113 Infantry Regiment in Freiburg / Breisgau. He completed his studies in Freiburg and Berlin and after the two state examinations came to the coal district of Dortmund as a mining assessor. Before Overthun became Oberbergrat at the Oberbergamt Dortmund in 1907, he had been employed in various mountain areas. Appointed in 1921 to represent the Mining Captain in Dortmund, on May 2, 1923 he received the certificate of appointment as Mining Captain of the Dortmund Oberbergamt. He remained in this position until his retirement on October 1, 1929.
