Mining enthusiast

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Bergbaubeflissener (or Bergbaubeflissene ) is a term for prospective or current students who are registered with a mining authority in the federal states and who are completing internships in companies in the extractive industry. These internships are therefore under the supervision of the respective authorities. The officially used designation is training for the zealous mountain subject / mine sheath subject .

Goal of the training

The aim of training as a mining enthusiast is to acquire mining qualifications, skills and knowledge and thus to be prepared for studies or work. Successful completion of the training is, in addition to an academic degree , a prerequisite for admission to the preparatory service for the career of the higher civil service in the mountain subject ( trainee training ). The zealous ones of the medullary sheath must be distinguished from this . In addition to mining skills, they should also be taught mining skills, skills and knowledge. This enables them to qualify for a mountain surveying traineeship.

organization

The training is based on the administrative regulations of the federal states. The content of these is coordinated between the federal states.

Prerequisites for acceptance as a zealous person are the general university entrance qualification , underground suitability and, in some cases , the intention to take up a degree with the course content mining or mining . Those who meet these conditions can apply to the competent mining authority in their place of residence or study for inclusion in the directory of the zealous. The authority decides on admission.

Diligent people included in the directory complete their internships under the supervision of the mining authorities. This means that an internship in the field of raw material extraction must be reported to the mining authority. If the intended activity corresponds to the goals of the training, the internship becomes part of the training for the diligent. If the training company is located in another federal state, the eager person will be referred to the competent mining authority there for the duration of the internship. Training periods abroad are also possible.

procedure

The training comprises 120 layers , i.e. H. 120 working days with the working hours applicable to the respective training company. It is divided into basic training (80 shifts) and advanced training (40 shifts).

Basic training

During the basic training, the diligent should get to know at least two mining companies and work at least 40 shifts in an underground operation. Those who are diligent about the medullary sheath should work at least 30 medullary layers. During the basic training, a shift record (diary of the activities carried out) and a report booklet (weekly description of the work processes, the geological conditions and the requirements for occupational safety ) must be kept. These must be signed by the person responsible for training in the company and then submitted to the responsible mining authority. In addition to the authority that is responsible for the operation, this is always also the authority where the zealous people are placed.

As a rule, the mining authorities have issued their own framework plans which regulate which mining branches should be carried out and to what extent.

Trial pit trip

After completing the basic training, the test pit trip must be completed. This oral exam is a trip to the mine accompanied by a member of the mining service and a representative of the training company. In doing so, the diligent must prove that they have general knowledge of the execution of the most important basic mining work, of mining operations and of operational safety measures. Those who are eager to work in the medullary sheath must also demonstrate knowledge of cracks . The test pit trip can be repeated once if it is not passed.

Further education

During the advanced training, the mining enthusiasts should, among other things, gain insights into previously unseen mining branches or related companies, daytime facilities , technical administration or environmental processes and facilities. The shift record and the report book must also be kept during this time.

Written exam

For the successful completion of the training, a written paper must be prepared. This must be done within four weeks, usually during an internship in a company. The subject is proposed by the eager and has to be approved by the authority. The work is then assessed by the competent authority. In case of failure, the work can be repeated once. The scope of the written work is comparable to a seminar paper .

graduation

After the successful completion of the course, the diligent will receive a certificate of completion. In addition to the completed training sections, the respective assessments of the report booklet, the test pit trip and the written work are recorded there. This certificate is a prerequisite for employment in the preparatory service for the career of the higher civil service in the mountain subject ( mountain traineeship ) or in the mine sheath (mountain survey trainee). The two-year preparatory service ends with the graduation as assessor of the mining subject or assessor of the mine sheath subject .

Current practice

The training of the diligent as the basis for a career in the higher service has largely lost its original meaning. In the past, it comprised 200 shifts and was therefore usually completed within a year prior to commencing studies. Today, it has been shortened to 120 shifts and is usually carried out alongside the studies. The completed training shifts are recognized as internship days for the degree.

Due to a lack of applicants, numerous mountain trainees are now hired without having completed their training. In Lower Saxony, training is no longer a prerequisite for employment.

Most of the zealous people are registered with the mining authorities in Lower Saxony , North Rhine-Westphalia and Saxony . This is due to the universities located there with courses in mining and mining.

As of January 1, 2020, a total of 64 zealous people were registered in North Rhine-Westphalia, 6 of them zealous people working in the myelin sheath. In 2019, 2 eager people duly completed the training. At the end of 2015, there were a total of 190 committed people in Saxony, 28 of them committed to the medullary sheath. In 2014, 15 eager people duly completed their training there.
