history

The Carl Remigius Medical School was founded in April 2016. The company is based in Idstein . In addition, the Carl Remigius Medical School has four other locations nationwide. When it was founded, courses of study originally based at the Fresenius University of Applied Sciences with close links to medicine, nursing and health economics were moved to the Carl Remigius Medical School. It started with seven courses, four of which were Bachelor and three Master programs. In 2017, the eighth degree program will be added with the part-time bachelor's degree in Physician Assistance for Health Professions (B.Sc.). In 2017, the first midwifery school was set up in Frankfurt am Main together with the Frankfurt University Hospital and the Bürgerhospital and Clementine Children's Hospital . Midwives and obstetricians have been trained there since September 2017. This was intended to close a large supply gap in the Frankfurt Rhine-Main metropolitan region.

Joachim Latsch has also been the new Managing Director of the Carl Remigius Medical School since September 2017. Latsch comes from the German Sport University Cologne, where he most recently worked at the Institute for Cardiovascular Research and Sports Medicine as a senior physician with lectureship and head of the athletes' clinic. Latsch will manage the Carl Remigius Medical School together with the previous managing director Tobias Krug.

The Carl Remigius Medical School focuses on the training of specialists and managers for the healthcare industry. It sees itself as an educational partner for companies in the healthcare sector, especially in matters of personnel management. The Physician Assistance degree should be emphasized, as it qualifies students to perform delegated medical activities and relieves the burden on the German medical profession. In May 2017, the 120th German Medical Association in Freiburg endorsed the “Physician Assistant” (PA) delegation model for relieving and supporting doctors, which the German Medical Association (BÄK) and the National Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians (KBV) had developed on behalf of earlier Doctors' Conference.

The namesake Carl Remigius Fresenius (1818 to 1897) was a German scientist who founded a chemical laboratory in Wiesbaden in 1848 , which was also dedicated to teaching from the beginning. He advocated the unity of research, teaching and practice and was committed to science, society, education and future issues. That is why educational companies want to stand in its tradition, including the Carl Remigius Medical School.
