Carl Rosen (poet)
Carl Rosen (actually Carl Friedrich Richter , born October 24, 1811 in Großröhrsdorf ; † May 4, 1862 there ) was a German writer and resistance fighter.
Life
Carl Rosen grew up in Großröhrsdorf in Upper Lusatia . Due to hard work, he did not attend school much. After his confirmation he published his first poems. In 1830 he was trained as a linen weaver as a journeyman . He served as a soldier in Dresden from 1832 to 1838. Carl Rosen was condemned as a traitor for his involvement in the Dresden May uprising , sat in prison and was expelled from the city of Dresden . From 1849 to 1851 he published the magazine Zeit und Gegenwart .
Carl Rosen published about 200 poems.

Honor
In 1967, a memorial stone for Carl Rosen was erected on the town hall forecourt in Großröhrsdorf.
