Carl Samuel Haeusler (born November 6, 1787 Nikolstadt ; † December 13, 1853 ) was a German entrepreneur and pioneer in the production of sparkling wine .

Life

Haeusler grew up in Semmelwitz (today a part of Paszowice ) and after years of wandering he settled in Hirschberg in the Giant Mountains , where he sold spices . From 1822 he made sparkling wine from apples. In 1826, together with the textile merchant Friedrich Förster and the wine merchant August Grempler, he founded the Häusler, Förster & Grempler Sektkellerei in Grünberg , which was the first in Germany to produce sparkling wine industrially. In 1834, Häusler left the company and then ran his own shop in Hirschberg.

In Hirschberg he invented wood cement for roofing.
