Carl Wenglein

Carl Wenglein (born November 16, 1882 in Nuremberg , † June 5, 1935 in Schwabach ) was a Schwabach needle manufacturer who was best known as the founder of the "World Association for Nature and Bird Protection" (1931).

He collected natural history objects such as bird eggs and bird nests, as well as numerous minerals and animal preparations from all over the world. They can be viewed today in the Schwabach City Museum .

In 1930 he founded the 6-hectare Wenglein Park , a nature reserve in the Eschenbach district of the Pommelsbrunn community , where Wenglein also lived for many years.
