Carl Woebcken (producer)

Carl L. Woebcken , also Charlie Woebcken (born October 25, 1956 ) is a German film producer and managing director of the Babelsberg film studio .

Life

Woebcken is CEO of Studio Babelsberg AG and Managing Director of Studio Babelsberg Motion Pictures GmbH and Babelsberg Film GmbH. Woebcken acquired Studio Babelsberg together with his business partner Christoph Fisser in July 2004 from the French media group Vivendi . Together they brought the company public in 2005.

Before working in Babelsberg, Woebcken worked, among other things, as a management consultant at the Boston Consulting Group and then on the management board of the management consultancy Roland Berger & Partner. Since 1998 Woebcken was Vice President of TV Loonland AG in Munich and Managing Director of the former Sony subsidiary Sunbow Entertainment in New York. With his participation as a producer, among other things, the movie Pettson and Findus was made . In addition, he managed the development of the international subsidiaries and the development of a children's and youth TV rights catalog. As program director of Berlin Animation Film GmbH (BAF) and co-producer, Woebcken was involved in the CGI movie Happily N'Ever After from 2002 to 2004 .
