Carla Ortiz
Carla Ortiz Oporto (born December 2, 1976 in Cochabamba ) is a Bolivian actress .
Life
Ortiz was initially a tennis player in Bolivia. She moved to Mexico City in the 1990s and moved to Los Angeles in 2005 when she received a scholarship to Georgetown University . During this time she appeared in several shows in Los Angeles and received an engagement in Mexico City. From there she went via Venezuela to Miami and Spain.
After a number of Mexican telenovelas from 1998 to 2001, she established herself as an actress in movies. In 2006 she played the lead role in the film Los Andes no creen en Dios by Diego Bertie and finally took the plunge to Hollywood. In 2007 she supported a campaign against FIFA's veto against the football matches in La Paz . In 2012 she played her first role in the Hollywood flick The Man Who Shook the Hand of Vicente Fernandez, alongside actor Ernest Borgnine, and in 2013 she was involved in the production of the film Olvidados (The Forgotten).
As a political activist, she released her first documentary "The Voice of Syria" in 2017, in which she takes a stand against the West's official portrayal of the war in Syria. a. the organization of the White Helmets (winner of the Nobel Peace Prize 2016) as an ally of IS and al-Nusra . After the liberation of Aleppo, Ortiz visited the abandoned headquarters of the White Helmets and demonstrated their direct connection to al-Qaeda (al-Nusra) and other jihadist terrorist organizations. This documentation was published by RT-Deutsch with German subtitles.
