Carlheinz Moesta (born April 24, 1928 in Boppard ) is a Rhineland-Palatinate politician ( SPD ) and journalist .

Live and act

The doctor of philology was a member of the Rhineland-Palatinate state parliament from 1971 to 1987 . There he made it to the position of deputy chairman of the SPD parliamentary group and was its media policy spokesman. He completed his media-political engagement as a member of the media commission of the SPD party executive and as deputy chairman of the broadcasting council of Südwestrundfunk , as deputy chairman of the Federal Association of Specialized Journalists for Youth Work and as a member of the board of trustees of the University of Mainz.

As a member of the state parliament, Carlheinz Moesta has repeatedly campaigned for the Ahr-Eifel region and in particular for its main employer, the Nürburgring . In addition to many other functions, he is still the spokesman for the “Initiative Nürburgring 2000 plus”, in which all parties belonging to the Adenau municipal council and affirming the Nürburgring are represented.

The Moesta-Verlag, which he founded, sold political information services such as the women's or educational policy service for years. The publishing house is now run by his daughter, Marion Moesta. His son, Mario Moesta, works in top management at the Unilever Group.

Carlheinz Moesta was awarded the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany , Cross of Merit 1st Class, in 1987 and was chairman of the SPD parliamentary group in the Adenau municipal council until 1995 .

Tax affair

Carlheinz Moesta achieved inglorious notoriety in the context of a tax evasion affair , at the end of which he was sentenced by a Koblenz court to eight months' imprisonment with probation for tax evasion amounting to 80,000 marks. The investigating authorities investigated Moesta on the accusation that he had not received or under-taxed a commission of 250,000 marks from the Liechtenstein advertising agency “Transservice”. On behalf of the Vaduz advertisers he should advertise for the Bergneustädter “Missionswerk e. V. ”in newspapers and magazines of the Federal Republic. In the course of the affair Moesta had to resign from the parliamentary group and was no longer put up for the state election by the SPD sub-district of Ahrweiler.
