Life

Fidanza began his political career with the Azione Giovani , youth organization of the right-wing conservative Alleanza Nazionale . He was its provincial chairman and from 2004 deputy chairman at the national level. 1997–2001 he was a member of a district council in Milan, 2005–06 he was an alderman of the Desio community . From 2006 to 2011 he was a member of the city council of Milan, where he was initially parliamentary group leader of the Alleanza Nazionale and, after the merger of AN and Forza Italia to form the center-right rallying party Popolo della Libertà (PdL), its deputy parliamentary group chairman.

In the European elections in 2009 he was elected as a representative of the PdL in the European Parliament, where he joined the parliamentary group of the European People's Party (EPP), of which he was a board member from September 2009. He was a member of the Committee on Transport and Tourism (TRAN). In March 2013, Fidanza left the PdL and joined the national conservative party Fratelli d'Italia (FdI). As this failed in the 2014 European elections because of the 4 percent hurdle, Fidanza left the European Parliament. In the Italian parliamentary elections in 2018 , he received a seat in the House of Representatives . In the European elections in the following year he again applied for a mandate as a member of the European Parliament and this time was elected as one of five representatives of the FdI.
