Carlo Hintermann

Carlo Hintermann (also Carlo Hinterman ; born April 2, 1923 in Milan , † January 7, 1988 in Acireale ) was an Italian actor .

Life

Hintermann, who comes from a German family, initially studied law, but then enrolled in the acting department of the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia , where he graduated in 1949. Immediately afterwards he played in a short incom production, Terra amara , which from now on led to constant employment in Italian cinema, where he interpreted supporting roles in numerous genre films. The blond, stocky actor often portrayed corpulent, shady characters.

Hintermann was rarely seen on stage. In addition to Vittorio Gassman , he starred in Irma la Douce in 1958 and in Kean in 1974 and was seen in several Shakespeare plays. From the mid-1960s and 1970s in particular, his television work, often for series episodes, was more extensive.

Hintermann died in a car accident.
