Carlos Alberto Hernandez (* 23. January 1971 in Los Angeles , California , USA as Carlos Alberto Hernandez ) is a retired American boxer in the super featherweight and normal boom .

He boxed only a draw in his first fight against compatriot Victor Trinidad, but remained undefeated in his first 22 fights. In 2001 he won the WBC Latin title.

On February 1, 2003, he defeated David Santos and thereby won the vacant IBF World Championship . In October of the same year he defended the title against Steve Forbes and lost it at the end of July of the following year to reigning WBC world champion Erik Morales in the unification of titles.

In 2009 he ended his career.
