geography
Frapelle is located on the Fave River in the Vosges , about ten kilometers east of the city of Saint-Dié-des-Vosges (as the crow flies) and about ten kilometers southwest of the Vosges ridge, which marks the border with the Alsace region . The districts Charémont and Grandgoutte belong to Frapelle . Frapelle is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Le Beulay in the north, Lusse in the east, Lesseux in the south-east, Combrimont in the south, Neuvillers-sur-Fave in the south-west and Nayemont-les-Fosses and La Petite-Fosse in the north-west.

Economy and Infrastructure

Lesseux-Frapelle train station is 400 m above sea level in the municipality of Lesseux on the railway line from Saint-Dié to Strasbourg .
Via Frapelle, Route nationale 59 leads from Lunéville via Saint-Dié up the Fave valley over the 554 m high Col de Saales into the Alsatian Breuschtal . In Frapelle, Route nationale 159 branches off from Route nationale 59, which crosses under the Vosges ridge through the toll Maurice-Lemaire tunnel and considerably shortens the route to the Rhine Valley.
