Le Vermont is a French commune in the department of Vosges in the region of Grand Est (2015 Lorraine ). It belongs to the arrondissement of Saint-Dié-des-Vosges and the canton of Raon-l'Étape . The residents call themselves Vermontois .

geography

The municipality of Le Vermont is located in the Vosges not far from the Col du Hantz , which connects the valleys of Meurthe and Breusch . In the west, the municipality of Le Vermont extends to the Vosges ridge, which forms the border with the Bas-Rhin department . With the 817 meter high Houdimont , the highest point in the municipality is reached here. The 4.41 km² large community is completely covered by forest except for the two clearing islands of the village of Le Vermont and the hamlet of Le Voé . The neighboring municipalities are Belval in the north, Saulxures in the northeast, Saint-Stail in the southeast, Grandrupt in the south and Le Puid in the west.
