Les Poulières is a French commune with 241 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Vosges department in the Grand Est region (until 2015 Lorraine ). It belongs to the arrondissement of Saint-Dié-des-Vosges and to the municipal association of Saint-Dié-des-Vosges, founded in 2017 .
geography
The municipality of Les Poulières is located in the Vosges on the upper reaches of the Neuné River , a tributary of the Vologne , about 18 kilometers southwest of the city of Saint-Dié-des-Vosges . The north of the municipality is forested ( Forêt Communale des Poulières ) and has elevations of over 600 m ( La Croix Bleue 634 m, Tête de la Clochette 663 m ).
The south of the municipality is characterized by the widening Neuné river valley.
The districts of Mengoutte, La Belle Vue and Lexipré belong to the municipality of Les Poulières, which has a size of just under 3 km² . Neighboring municipalities of Les Poulières are Biffontaine in the northeast, La Chapelle-devant-Bruyères in the south and Belmont-sur-Buttant in the northwest.
history
During the Ancien Régime (before 1793) the place then called Le Polière belonged to the bailiwick of Bruyères , ecclesiastically to the dean's office in Corcieux and to the parish in La Chapelle-devant-Bruyères .
Les Poulières received no stopping point when the railway line from Épinal to Saint-Dié-des-Vosges was built in 1876; The nearby train station in Biffontaine was available for travelers and goods.

There is no church or chapel in the community, but a striking wayside cross ( croix de chemin ).
Economy and Infrastructure
Les Poulières has always been characterized by agriculture. There are three farms in the municipality (mainly cattle breeding).
The main road in the municipality connects as the departmental road D 81 Les Poulières with the towns of Bruyères and Saint-Dié-des-Vosges .
