Vienville is a French commune in the Vosges department in the region of Grand Est . It belongs to the arrondissement of Saint-Dié-des-Vosges and to the municipal association of Saint-Dié-des-Vosges, founded in 2017 .
geography
The municipality of Vienville, with 125 inhabitants (January 1, 2017), is located in the Vosges , about 20 kilometers south of Saint-Dié-des-Vosges . The L'Bheumey, a tributary of the Neuné, flows through the municipality . The valley floor, which is over 500 meters high, is dominated in the north by Mont Thiriville , whose crest, at 759 meters above sea level, is just beyond the municipal boundary of La Houssière. The community consists of numerous individual farms, the Neuné district in the west has a closed structure.
Neighboring communities of Vienville are La Houssière in the north, Corcieux in the east and south-east and La Chapelle-devant-Bruyères in the south-west and west.
history
The village of Vienville was first mentioned in 1580. The Saint-Jacques church responsible for Vienville is located a few meters outside the municipality, in the Saint-Jacques district of the neighboring municipality of La Chapelle-devant-Bruyères. It is a branch of the Romanesque church Notre-Dame in Champ-le-Duc . From 1790 to 1801 Vienville was part of the Corcieux parish.

Economy and Infrastructure
There are five farms in the community (dairy farming, horse, sheep and goat breeding).
Départementsstraße 60 runs through the municipality of Vienville in a west-east direction from Bruyères via Corcieux to Anould . This road is also the shortest connection from Épinal to the Col du Bonhomme in the Vosges .
