The Archdiocese of Bertoua ( Latin Archidioecesis Bertuana ) is in Cameroon situated Roman Catholic Archdiocese based in Bertoua .

history

The Archdiocese of Bertoua was established on March 17, 1983 by Pope John Paul II with the Apostolic Constitution Gravissimum officium from cessions of territory from the Diocese of Doumé as the Diocese of Bertoua and subordinated to the Archdiocese of Yaoundé as a suffragan . The Diocese of Bertoua gave on May 20, 1991 parts of its territory to establish the Diocese of Yokadouma . Another assignment of territory took place on February 3, 1994 to establish the Batouri diocese .

On November 11, 1994, the diocese of Bertoua was raised to an archdiocese by John Paul II with the Apostolic Constitution Pastorali quidem .

In 2013, the Archdiocese of Bertoua transferred a priest to the laity for sexual abuse . Later this priest worked in the Archdiocese of Cologne . The Archdiocese was 2,018 ecclesiastical and criminal against the priest, who despite secularization , a letter of recommendation from Bertouas former bishop Roger Pirenne had submitted, for fraud act.
