Saulcy-sur-Meurthe is a French commune with 2,330 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Vosges department in the Grand Est region (until 2015 Lorraine ). It belongs to the arrondissement of Saint-Dié-des-Vosges and the canton of Saint-Dié-des-Vosges-2 (until 2015: canton of Saint-Dié-des-Vosges-Est ). The inhabitants are called Salixiens .

Saulcy-sur-Meurthe is located on the Meurthe River in the Vosges Mountains . Neighboring municipalities of Saulcy-sur-Meurthe are Saint-Dié-des-Vosges in the north and north-west, Sainte-Marguerite in the north and north-east, Entre-deux-Eaux in the east, Saint-Léonard in the south and Taintrux in the north-west.
history
The first traces of the settlement go back to the year 1188, when the place is mentioned as salt ice . The military cemetery of Saulcy reminds of the destruction of the place during both world wars and the many dead.
