The Diocese of Kumbo ( lat. : Dioecesis Kumboensis ) is in Cameroon situated Roman Catholic diocese based in Kumbo . It is one of the most populous Catholic dioceses in the country.

history

As early as the end of the 19th century, Pallottine religious were committed to a first mission in Cameroon. In 1912 the first missionaries from Germany reached the region.

After the end of the First World War , the German missionaries were forced to leave the country by the French and British occupiers.

The diocese of Kumbo was established on March 18, 1982 by Pope John Paul II with the Apostolic Constitution Aptiora in this out of territory of the Archdiocese of Bamenda and subordinated to this as a suffragan diocese.

The diocese has maintained a partnership with the diocese of Limburg since the 1980s . This is how mutual exchange programs are promoted.
