Carlos Augusto Rego Santos-Neves

Carlos Augusto Rego Santos-Neves (born January 26, 1944 in Rio de Janeiro ) is a Brazilian diplomat .

After graduating from the Escola Nacional de Engenharia da Universidade do Brasil / RJ in 1964, he completed the preparatory course for career diplomats at the Rio Branco Institute . In 1968 he was promoted to second secretary and served in 1969 in the New York Consulate General. In 1972 he became deputy Consul in Hong Kong . In 1974 he was promoted to first secretary and served in the Buenos Aires embassy . In 1988 he returned to New York, this time as Consul General . In 1992 Santos-Neves became ambassador to Mexico. In 1996 he went to Ottawa as ambassador and in 2003 to Moscow .

In 2008 he followed José Maurício Bustani as Ambassador to the Court of St James’s .
