Carlos Curbelo (born April 28, 1954 in San José de Mayo , Uruguay ) is a former French - Uruguayan football player .

Player career

Gaston Curbelo's father began his career in his native country at Cerro and moved from there to France in 1972 to AS Nancy , where Curbelo , who played in the position of Libero , was champion of the second division in 1975 with his teammates and won the Coupe de France in 1978 . He stayed there until 1980 and then played at OGC Nice for another eight years . With Nice he was runner-up in the second division in 1985.

National team

The defender was a member of the national team of France , for which he completed two international matches in 1976, in which he could not score.

Coaching

Curbelo, who after his active career settled in Uruguay again at least in the years 1989 to 2008 and worked there as a scout for French clubs, was in charge of the Uruguayan club Bella Vista as assistant coach from 1990 to 1991 .
