González made his debut in the Primera División on January 6, 2001 for local rivals UAG Tecos in a home game against the UNAM Pumas , which was won 2-1. In the same half-season, the Clausura 2001, he became a regular at the Tecos and played in 14 of the 17 games in the league round . His first goal in the Primera División (and his only one for the Tecos) came in a 2-0 home win over Santos Laguna on February 10, 2001.

After a total of 30 league appearances for the Tecos González moved in the summer of 2002 to league rivals Monarcas Morelia , for whom he completed 124 league appearances and scored three goals in the five years of his club membership.

In the summer of 2007 he moved to the UNAM Pumas, with whom he was under contract until the end of his active career in the summer of 2012. In the Clausura 2009 he was part of the championship squad with three league appearances, while with the Pumas 'renewed success two years later he was no longer part of the Pumas' first division squad, but (as in the last two years of his career) for their farm team Pumas Morelos played in the second division .

After the end of his active career, González began to work as a coach and is currently (2017) in charge of the U-20 youth team of his former club Monarcas Morelia.
