Carlos Licona (* 3. November 1990 in Mexico City , Mexico , as Carlos Rogelio Licona ) is a Mexican boxer in the straw weight and current undefeated champion of the Association of International Boxing Federation (IBF short).

Professional career

The 1.63 meter tall Mexicanito, Licona's fight name, made his professional debut on December 5, 2014, he beat his compatriot Armando Diaz in a classic knockout in round 1 in a four-round fight

Licona boxed against Puerto Rican Janiel Rivera in April 2018 for the vacant Latino belt of the World Boxing Organization (WBO for short). Licona could clearly and unanimously defeat Rivera on points.

On December 1 of the same year Licona then competed against the Philippines Mark Anthony Barriga at the Staples Center in LA for the vacant IBF World Championship and won by unanimous decision of the judge.
