Carlos Marín

Carlos Marín (born October 13, 1968 in Rüsselsheim ) is a Spanish singer ( baritone ) and member of the pop opera quartet " Il Divo ".

Marín grew up in Germany, the Netherlands and Spain. He began his musical career at the age of eight. His first album was produced by the Dutchman Pierre Kartner "Vader Abraham". At that time Marín had the stage name "Carlito - the little Caruso" and recorded songs such as ' O sole mio and Granada .

When he was twelve, the family moved to Spain. As an adolescent, Marín won several awards in Spanish television competitions. Over the years he has earned a reputation as a singer who cultivates various musical genres. It got excellent reviews.

Since 1993 he has appeared regularly in musicals. He started as Marius in Les Misérables in 1993 and then Bella y Bestia (Beast), Grease (Vince Fontaine) and José Sacristán in The Man of La Mancha . He has also participated in the production of Broadway Magic and Peter Pan (theater / CD). He sang in Tim Burton's computer-animated film Nightmare Before Christmas, and he was also the singing voice of the Disney Prince in the Spanish version of Cinderella, produced in 2000.

Carlos Marín studied as a master class student with Alfredo Kraus , Montserrat Caballé and Jaime Aragall. In recent years he has been primo baritono in a number of operas including La traviata , Il barbiere di Siviglia , La Bohème , Lucia di Lammermoor and Madama Butterfly . Some of his most notable operatic appearances that are recorded are Mercutio in Romeo et Juliette (Gounod) and Don Giglio in La capricciosa corretta ( Vicente Martín y Soler ).

Marín has often sung zarzuelas (Spanish operetta), including with the zarzuelas in the Jardines De Sabatini in Madrid, and in the gardens of Madrid's royal palace during the summer.

In December 2003 he became a member of the international musical quartet Il Divo , together with Urs Bühler (Switzerland), Sébastien Izambard (France) and David Miller (USA).

Her first album Il Divo sold five million copies worldwide and pushed Robbie Williams from number one on the UK charts in November 2005. Her second album Ancora was released in Great Britain on November 7, 2005, and the third album, Siempre , was released in November 2006.

From June 2006 to February 2009, Marín was married to the Spanish singer and actress Geraldine Larrosa (stage name: Innocence).
