Life

Reinhard did military service for a long time at Pz Gren Schools 21 in Thun, where he was promoted to the rank of main field female. After some training at business schools, Reinhard and his brother took over the successor in their parents' company. In 2014 the brother left the Reinhard Group to reorientate himself.

In May 2017, Reinhard announced that he had sold his operational part of the large laundry to the Bardusch Group. He remains the owner of the various properties. In September 2017 he launched his new company "Reinhard Advisory AG" and sits on various administrative and foundation boards as well as on the boards of business associations.

Reinhard married in 1996 and has a daughter and a son. In 2014 Reinhard separated and lived with his children. In addition to German, French and English, Reinhard also speaks Spanish, as his mother was born in Spain .

Political

Reinhard began his political career in various functions with the FDP in the city of Thun. In 1998 he was elected Vice President. On January 1, 2005 Reinhard Thuner became city councilor . From 2007 to 2010 he held the office of president of the FDP city of Thun. At the end of 2011, Reinhard ended local politics for the time being.

In March 2014 Reinhard was elected to the Bernese Grand Council. Shortly before the first session, his cantonal parliamentary group unanimously nominated him as a candidate for the second council vice-president. He made the election in the first ballot. On May 30, 2016, Reinhard was elected President of the Cantonal Parliament with a very good result and was thus the "highest Berner" for one year. This choice is considered astonishing, since normally new council members are rarely elected to a cantonal presidium. Reinhard chose his annual motto for his presidential year "faster than you think" and wants to improve the dusty, sluggish image of the canton of Bern.

In 2018 Reinhard ran for both the Thun government and the city council. He made it into parliament, but decided not to take office.

Since August 2018 he has been Vice President of the FDP Canton of Bern .

Positions

His political action is mainly aimed at "family entrepreneurship". He wants to show that entrepreneurs should increasingly get involved in politics again .

Thun football stadium

Reinhard and his large laundry were a long time co-sponsor of FC Thun . He went through many ups and downs. Again and again he worked to ensure that the football club could survive. Reinhard worked together with a committee for the second referendum for a new football stadium in Thun. After the successful voting decision of the Thun population, he took over the overall structure and coordination of the Arena Thun cooperative, which he chaired from its foundation until the end of 2014. Today's football stadium is called the Stockhorn Arena .
