Carlos Suárez (boxer)

Carlos Suárez (born June 6, 1993 in Ohio ) is a boxer from the United States. Due to his mother's ancestry, he is also a citizen of Trinidad and Tobago . He represented this country in the light flyweight division at the 2012 Olympic Games.

Boxing career

Carlos Suárez initially boxed in the USA and won a bronze medal at the 2010 National Golden Gloves in Little Rock . In 2012 he won the Championships in Trinidad and Tobago, competed in the American Olympic qualification in Rio de Janeiro , defeating David Jiménez from Costa Rica and Enoc Hualinga from Peru before he was eliminated in the semifinals against Jantony Ortiz from Puerto Rico in third place.

He became only the fourth boxer from Trinidad to take part in the Olympic Games, but lost in the first fight against Ferhat Pehlivan from Turkey (6:16) at the Games in London .

In 2013 he started his professional career, his record is seven wins, three defeats and one draw. (As of September 2018)
