Carlton Sports or just Carlton for short is a leading manufacturer of badminton equipment .

history

The company was founded in 1946. Carlton was later taken over by Dunlop Slazenger International from Greenville , which are now part of Sports World International . The company's research is conducted at the Carlton Research and Development Center in Camberley . Carlton was the leading badminton racket manufacturer until the 1980s, when the company was later ousted from this top position by Yonex . In plastic shuttlecock manufacturing, Carlton claims to have produced more balls than any other company.
